Picasso Museum at the Chateau Grimaldi
This location provides an unusual perspective on Picasso’s work even though
it is not as extensive as the collection in Paris. Picasso painted in this Chateau
while he lived in Antibes. Be sure to glimpse out the window at the view below
Picasso's studio in order to get a sense of the scenery that inspired him. Included
in the collection are the Mediterranean marine and mythological life created
in Antibes and the ceramics created in nearby Vallauris.

Baronne Ephrussi de Rothschild left a plethora of art and artifacts to the Institut
de France after her death in 1934. The collection includes paintings by Carpaccio
and other masters of the Venetian Renaissance; canvases by Sisley, Renoir, and
Monet; Ming vases; Dresden porcelain; and more. She was decidely peculiar -
she named her house after the ocean liner Ile de France and insisted
that her 35 gardeners dress as sailors!

Musée des Beaux-Arts
Located in the former home of the Ukrainian Princess Kotchubey, this is a fine
collection of 19th- and 20th-century art, including works by Boudin, Ziem, Raffaelli,
Renoir and Monet. The gallery also includes great sculptures by J. B. Carpeaux,
Rude, Rodin, and others. There is also an important collection devoted to Second
Empire and Belle Epoque masters.
